My computer died like three weeks ago (yes, really - a powersurge!), so I have only been able to access the internet at work (where I don't want to go on DU), and here - at the public library.

I miss you crazy folks!!!!!!!

(Anyone want to give me a new laptop...?)

TV is WAY more entertaining than I thought. I hadn't watched it in a long time. hahahahaa

4. have you tried freecycle?

because it seems like every time someone asks for a laptop on freecycle here, they get one. I've seen this three or four times. Can you recieve freecycle e-mails at work? Maybe you can put an ad in there and ask them to e-mail you if they have one. I've been stunned watching people get these laptops just by asking for them.

5. Are you sure your computer is really fried?

Last time I thought mine was someone told me to open up the box and just push in on anything that connected to anything. I did so, very carefully(!) and screwed it back together and --- voila! --- it's beeen working fine ever since. This was a month and a half ago or so . . .


(But mine's a desktop.) Get yourself a good surge protector for your next computer --- they're worth it.
