I really, really wish I had a record player.
I mean REALLY.

My brother is moving and he had a some of my parents old stuff stored in his garage, that he brought over yesterday for my mom. So I'm looking at all my parents old records, I had forgotten how cool my mom and dad were!

Tons of great albums; The Beatles, The Stones "Flowers", Janis Joplin "Pearl", U2 "The Joshua Tree", George Harrison "The Concert for Bangladesh", Simon and Garfunkel. And tons and tons more! They're all in pretty good condition too, considering they've been in storage for about 10 years and they were played a lot by my parents.

Now, were can I get a nice record player for cheap. :bounce:

1. Thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.) and yard sales are good
places to start.

3. It's worth the trouble.
You can find a new one for under $100 at a Best Buy type of place, or used for much less with some looking. Try looking on Craigslist- or even posting a wanted ad there..

It's really, really fun playing records. My kids were fascinated when I dug out the turntable and some old records. They loved the whole process of getting out the lp, starting the platter moving, lowering the tonearm, etc... The analog sound is different, too.

15. I bought one at Circuit City a couple of years ago
I went in and asked the saleperson there if they had record players. The funny thing is he looked at me like I was a nutcase and showed me the two kinds they had. I ended up buying one and now my husband and I can play the records we have had since childhood. Definately a good purchase. Not only that, the kids actually know what a record looks and sounds like and that's priceless.
