Everybody--A new Psych quiz!!!!!
I stole this from another site. Have fun--it's pretty good!!

Make sure to answer questions 1-10 before moving on...NO CHEATING!!

Read the following questions, imagining the scenes in your mind, and write down the FIRST thing that you visualize. Do not think about the questions excessively.

1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?

2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?

3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?

6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.

7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material is the cup made of?

8. What do you do with the cup?

9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?

10. How will you cross the water?

This has been a relational psychology test. The answers given to the questions have been shown to have a relevance to values and ideals that we hold in our personal lives. The analysis follows:

1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life.

2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems.

3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (passive/aggressive)

4. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems.

5. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced.

6. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy.

7. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with the person named in number 1. For example, styrofoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable.

8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude towards the person in number 1.

9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire.

10. How wet you get in crossing the water is indicative of the relative importance of your sex life.

------------------------------------------------------------
So--how did everybody do?

1. Without reading your answers:
1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?
My thoughts.

2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?
A big grizzly bear

3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?
I am running away from it, because dating it is something I'd rather not think about

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?
Like my ego, it's huuuuuuuuuge.

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?
No. It's a waste of wood. Don't expect me to answer the knock unless you're really cute, however.

6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.
It's a big oak table with china that accentuates my elegant yet eccentric style. What surrounds it is furniture that's also elegant and suits my style.

7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material is the cup made of?
Plastic

8. What do you do with the cup?
Throw it away properly

9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?
A river

10. How will you cross the water?
Treading. I am unable to swim the distance.

3. And my reaction to the answers:
1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life.
It figures. But I do not have any local friends to walk with. Not yet.

2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems.
That's a big-ass bear.

3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (passive/aggressive)
Hmmm, fleeing the big-ass bear. Makes sense.

4. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems.
It's a big house. But my... ego shouldn't reflect my desire to resolve my problems as I like to run away from them. WHich is bizarre as the assertion is correct as my biggest problem (debt) is one I am trying to repay.

5. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced.
In my heart, I'd want a fence. But there is no logistical purpose for having one; that's why I mentioned the door.

6. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy.
Hmmm...

7. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with the person named in number 1. For example, styrofoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable.
Lovely. I was thinking of litter; this correlation did not cross my mind.

8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude towards the person in number 1.

9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire.
Okay, so the river is the Mighty Mississip'!

10. How wet you get in crossing the water is indicative of the relative importance of your sex life.
Treading - slowly, carefully, taking my time, safely... Why do I find this one to be a tad disingenuous; are we talking about a life partner, or what I do and how I do it in bed?

2. Heh.
I am a generally unhappy person who runs away from his raccoon-sized problems. My sexual desire is the size of a big-ass lake, but I guess it's not that important, as I take a boat across the lake.

My dream house is on the small side of average, so I guess I don't want to resolve my problems. There's a fence around it, but a) we have a dog, and b) I coulda TOLD you that.

My wife is the most important person in my life.

Our relationship is as durable as a clay cup.

I smashed the cup. x(

10. I might as well finish what I started, huh?
1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?

My first instinct is to say no one. But if I'm not alone, I guess a friend.

2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?

I see a raccoon.

3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?

He's curious, but I do't push it--he isn't a tame animal.

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?

Large, but not too large that it's gaudy. I like a lot of open spaces.

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?

No fences around the house.

6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.

I see a parqueted floor with a wooden inlaid table, chairs for six, a wall filled with shelves of china and other collectables, a pretty centerpiece of lilies and wildflowers on the table.

7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material is the cup made of?

Considering that there is a deck around most of the back, the only kind of cup I can envision is a styrofoam or plastic one that blew off the deck during the last barbeque.

8. What do you do with the cup?

Toss it properly.

9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?

A lake

10. How will you cross the water?

I don't need to cross it. Will take the boat if and when I need to do so.

12. my dream house has a fence because I have dogs.
good grief.

I am generally unhappy, I guess, because the damn table is bare and there is nothing around it because I hate clutter of all kinds. There are no people around it because it's not time to eat, and I live alone anyway. There are no flowers around it or on it because I don't believe in murdering innocent flowers that haven't done anything to me.

My cup was the holy grail, though. I didn't realize we were supposed to envision litter. I have a great relationship with my dogs, I guess, who were my 'people' in question #1. I put my cup on display on a shelf in the kitchen.

My animal was a panther. He glanced at me and kept on walking because he just wasn't impressed.

My body of water was a river, I crossed it by walking to the deep part then/swimming.

This was kind of fun, thanks.

14. My hubby and Ii just took this quiz
We both picked our own dogs to walk with. It makes sense because dogs can feel and smell things we humans can't.

I see everyone here is picking people. Oh well, we've been married over 16 years now.

16. ok i'll give it a whirl
Edited on Tue Aug-22-06 12:20 AM by pitohui
1) the hubby
2) crow or raven
3) he probably hits me up for food but pretends he is giving me some great wisdom (this has actually happened to me, on more than one occasion, over several decades)
4) many mansions -- ha ha, literally "my dream house" in my dreams i keep finding all these endless damn rooms
5) not seeing a fence
6) oh you know, the usual fantasy dining room/kitchen set up, long table, flowers, copper bowls hanging from whatever, the groaning board with a glistening bronzed turkey blah de blah
7) copper
8) this has actually happened, i rinse it out, sage it, and put it on the altar (okay i'm superstitious just shoot me)
9)pond, geese, maybe a swan or two
10) why would i cross it? i guess i could borrow a pirogue and go stick a wood duck nest box in the middle but that is as far as it goes

okay now reading the analysis -- oh magic fuck word!!!!

i don't think my problems are that small, come on, i have little old raven sized problems? i'm only a little bitter here :-)
the fence part is just wrong, i am in no way an open personality, i just don't think a fence is a very atmospheric part of dream/fantasy journeys, i mean do YOU see a fence? does anyone here see a fence? a moat maybe but a fence?

as a stupid ass data point the chalice i found after katrina was a cobalt blue plastic goblet but the fantasy "cup" was copper or metal so go figure

eff around in the new age too much and stuff like chalices/cups/ravens/power animals are stuff that has actually happened rather than offering any deep underlying meaning
