My friend laughs last..
Edited on Thu Dec-18-03 10:41 PM by SoCalDem
I have a young friend who is quite wealthy..(about 20K a MONTH) He is vp of a concrete saw company (go figure:shrug:..)..

anyway. he and the wife wanted a new car.. they have 5 kids, so they wanted the bigbadboy SUV Ford.. Expedition??Excursion?? Whatever it is.. Anyway, she goes online and starts tracking orders by dealers of the exact one they want ..color/amenities/ etc. They did not want to special order because they feared the price would "go up".. They find one being delivered to Long Beach.. They went there and met the car hauler.. Found a salesman and said.."We want THAT one".. The guy looks at them, and says.."Can I show you a .... (whatever).. that one costs $48,000.00 and I doubt that you could qualify for it...

He went ballistic, and asked to see the manager.. The manager shows up and he told him what the salesman had said, and my friend said that he wanted whatever that guy's commission would have been , knocked off the price or he would go elsewhere.. He wrote out a check, they guy called the bank and verified that funds were there, and they left with their new vehicle..

They actually wanted to go elsewhere, but they had the kids with them and they had spent about 3 weeks tracking this one down..

Somehow, I think the salesman is kicking himself in the ass..

1. Why would the salesman think your friend didn't have any money?

4. A "Pretty Woman" moment.
"You work on commission, don't you? Mistake... BIG mistake!"

(or something like that)

5. I live and work near Silicon Valley...
and I've heard many such stories.

A good friend of mine, who's worth at least $100 million was majorly dissed in a local art gallery because she was wearing jeans.

Needless to say, that salesperson lost a huge commission.
