Poll question: Just curious: did anyone NOT pull for the sharks in "Open Water"?
I stress that I'm only talking about the poorly drawn and poorly directed characters in the movie, not the real people on whom they were based nor the real actors ill-fated to play them. So now that we're safely & completely in the realm of fantasy, what say you?

3. As we were at home watching on cable, we tried razzing the screen like
MST3K, but it was so annoying and tedious that even this wasn't fun. So we bailed (as it were). But yes, way more boring than terrifying.
:hi:

4. speaking as a diver, I found it slightly more terrifying
and I liked that it wasn't all alicked up Hollywood style...they sure did some stoopid things but, it looked typical of how typical tourist divers would react...

7. Hope you read this post. I want to ask you something >>>>
Remember when (in the movie)..they were about 2 or 3 miles from the Buoy?
Couldn't they had made it to the Buoy...I mean..with fins, it seems like they
could have overcome the current?
Just Wondering

9. in my opinion what they should've done the very second
they saw boats...was drop down about 10 to 20 feet and swam diver style to the boat. This would have eliminated fighting all that choppy water and therefore would have reserved their air and their stregth....swiming diver style means kicking your fins...your arms stay at your sides...more like a fish than a human.

5. I saw the Discovery documentary on which
this movie was based. It happened in Australia in the Great Barrier Reef area, not in the Carribean as in the movie. And they did find the life vest which washed up on shore, indicating that the woman took it off and drowned. Two things that I found disturbing: that tourists, no matter how good they are would wander off that far, and that the people in charge would not be more careful doing a head count, considering that if you don't get it right you are leaving people in the water. It's a very scary thought.

8. I don't know
I've been in the Caribbean snokleing and know one really kept track of what we did. I can see how people can get seperated from the group. That would have been scary as shit for me. It's hard to judge people if you have never been in the situation. We were out over a reef but the whole time I could see land.

10. Was hoping the sharks would eat the camera and film.
Then I never would have been able to rent it.
