Painters. Have you ever been so absorbed in your work
that you

a) stuck your paintbrushes in your drink
b) swigged from your paint water

1. Stuck paintbrushes in drink? Check.

Swigged from paintwater? No, but (for dry brushwork) I have a bad habit of rinsing the brush out and then putting a point or a chisel back on the tip by putting the brush in my mouth and then drawing it through my lips. And I have, on occasion, been so absorbed in my work that I forgot to rinse the brush out first.

x(

Fortunately this has happened with watercolors only, and not oils.

Hey Sugar baby!

:loveya:  :loveya:

Gonna show us your painting when you're done?

4. Fortunately, neither, but...
...I used a lot of enamel paints when I worked on metal figurines when I was a kid (AD&D and Battletech), so I needed something like acetone or toluene to clean the brushes. After the fumes made me a tad dizzy, I wised up and used a gas mask if I was going to be around those fumes for any length of time.

of the paint thinner I used to use. I had to put on fans and open all the windows or get silly. :silly:

11. I'm familiar with paint schmootz-
o, yeah! To the point at which I'll imbibe it if I'm not careful. *bleah*

But hey, last night I was looking at one of my favorite books, by Ralph Steadman, called "Untrodden Grapes". It's about all the wineries he's been to, and it has his really beautiful paintings in it!

And guess what? Dad & I are flying to San Fran on the 15th of September! :bounce: :bounce: :toast: Please let's get together at some point during that week! And you know what my bro's doing? He's booked a hot air balloon for our family to fly over the vineyards. :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

13. I've done both.
Fortunately never with oils. ;) Watercolor is safe-ish to consume, and sumi ink is not only non-toxic, it actually doesn't taste so bad.

17. Hey, I did a search on your paper-
I was hoping that they still made it. There are about 50 thousand sites for that kind of watercolor paper, but apparently it's not being made any more. :-(

Sumi ink? Does it taste as nice as paste? ;-) :P

I was reminded of the episode of Absolutely Fabulous where Edina sips from the brush cup

F*********CK yes! Are you one of them? I think I'm Pats when my best friend & I get together, and she's Edina.

I can't wait to see what you do with the painting of your cat. I saw her picture, and she's beautiful.

20. No. But probably only because I don't paint. BUT, when I do wall
painting I somehow always end up with paint in my bangs... to which 600 people invariably say to me over the course of the next month,"Have you been painting?" :hi:

22. I'll bet it looks cute, too!
Like a preoccupied lil smudge on your face, or the tip of your nose.

Don't tell anyone, but once in college I seduced a man by deliberately applying a little blue paint to the tip of my nose. It actually worked. :yoiks:
