only way to play. I never mind a last second snipe on my items - at least I got a bid. As a buyer, some people are such sheep that they won't bid on anything unless the see someone else values it enough to bid early.

Now, next question - manual snipe or 3rd party snipe?

9. That's why you start items at a $1.00 opening bid when you're selling.

There's *always* somebody who will bid a buck on something early. And then somebody else who bids it up a little more before the last day... it seems like there's more bidding before the last few seconds if it looks like lots of people are interested.

My best return on investment: $272.00 for an item I paid a buck for at a rummage sale... It was an old hand saw. Upon cleaning it turned out to be a rarity.

not all. I'm no volume seller, but have tried multiple methods - the 1$ dangle doesn't do the trick consistently.

Always wait until the last moment, or at least until the last 12 hours... besides, if someone else bids more than what you want for it, then it's no loss.

10. I love snipes

I'm happy when they snipe my auctions, but it doesn't happen that much anymore. It's become such a buyer's market! I haven't been buying much lately, and when I do it's usually buy it now.

....I don't like sniping. It works better for me if auction fever develops, and that doesn't happen if no one bids till the last moment. Of course it's fun, though, to watch the action at the end.
