i've seen birds do it
their little wings flutter.

and when it is morning and the trees are dewy and the sun is glinting off the residual condensation, it can actually be very moving.

3. I've seen wood ducks
and mallards and pigeons and house sparrows and about 10 other bird species do it.

i suppose it's because i seek them out, some of the best have been mississippi kite and harris hawk
