I think I've had it.

I know having a job is something to be appreciative of, but I don't know if I can take it even one more day.

I have no more rah rah cheers left inside my head.

Why are you going to work tomorrow, other than the obvious money thing?

Have you been there a long time? Sounds like it!
Maybe you need a change. Find something new!

4. I was the same way. I'm going tomorrow, because
in less than 2 weeks I start my new job. No more being miserable or starting to get grumpy on sunday about having to go back to work. :-)

Hang in there. Have you started looking for a new job?

5. I've got a new job
but as the old song goes, sorta, same as the old job.

I'm just tired of it. This spending most of my days doing something I'm tired of makes me..........tired.

11. Your problem is that you have a job. I've walked away from a couple

of situations like yours. Half way to work and
said to myself fuck this, I've got two weeks pay
and I'm not a slave.

I haven't had a paid coffee break or vacation since
1980 but I have never worked in a cubicle. When I left
my last job I was burnt out, my boss was having me followed
by a PI because he thought I was going to jump to another
company.

I left and the company folded three months later.

You probably have a very good reason not to go to work.

The job sucks, you only live once and every day you feel
the way you do is one day less happiness for you.

No paycheck is worth that.

BTW avoid post #7 I believe the man is a little bit REPRESSED.

6. I get bummed out on Sundays, but I don't know why
My work really isn't that bad. I find what I do kind of interesting and I think I get paid well for it. The people I work with are like family. If my partner and I could retire now and just divide our time between Vancouver (BC), Tokyo, and Cabo and write and take pictures we'd do it tomorrow, but we're not quite there yet.

6. I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid.

7. What am I? Flypaper for freaks!?

8. I'm not being rude. You're just insignificant.

9. I'm already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth.

10. Ahhhhh, I see the fuck-up fairy has visited us again.

11. I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you.

12. It's a thankless job, but I've got a lot of Karma to burn off.

13. Yes, I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.

14. No, my powers can only be used for good.

15. How about never? Is never good for you?

16. I'm really easy to get along with once you people learn to worship me.

17. You sound reasonable...Time to up my medication.

25. You are validating my inherent mistrust of strangers.

26. I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public.

27. Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

8. Sorry you are still struggling with this.
Tomorrow I have to start my job hunt again. I have to because my life is kind of like a train getting ready to jump the track and three months I have just been standing there beside the track with my hand on the switch and I'm unable to move. It's so weird. I don't know what is wrong with me. Every day for three months I have been trying to get out there and it's like I'm kind of frozen or something. I'm sure it has to do with the stress I went through a while back, like a touch of PTSD or something. It feels like a giant phobia or something...I know what it's like to feel like you do and if you feel it's not going to get better and you have the resources financially it's probably better just to go on and leave. It's not like you haven't given the job a chance. I hope something better comes along.

12. I think I know exactly what you are saying
that frozen feeling. It's odd, and for that reason, it's hard to change.

Good luck!

10. I'm going nowhere tomorrow.
I quit my job last November working in a warehouse. I made $30,000 last year without working the entire year and where I live that is as much as a starting teacher makes. Even though I was #1 in seniority and had 3 weeks vacation, I hated the job and my boss sucked. I did repetitive moderate heavy lifting and although I had a previous surgery for an on the job back surgery I had not missed a day of work in 7 years. At 54 years of age I decided not to press my luck anymore and maybe get hurt again where I would have to wear an adult diaper for the rest of my life or pop pain pills to get through the day. I am not making payments on anything and my only bills are my daily living expenses and although I am not well off, I am in the black. My monthly expenses are very small.

I have probably worked less than half time these past 9 months, only working for a temp agency--taking the jobs I like, turning down the ones I don't. I told Manpower that I would take off the rest of August. Yes, I quit a good job and have not regretted it for a minute since. I have enjoyed being semi-retired although I am not really. I have adopted the Willie Nelson philosophy about money and only intend to make as much as I need. I could work hard and full time until I retire at a job I hate and probably would not have much then and who knows how my health might be.

So I am not going anywhere tomorrow and will do what I please for the rest of the month. I will be able to get enough work to keep me going along until I come upon something I really like. The pay will not be important if I like the job. I have decided that life is too short and I will live it on my terms for as long as I can. I am in good health with no money problems or personal problems and my time is my own. Life is good.

13. I don't want to go to work either, but I have to.

It's the only decent paying job in the area.

The only thing that keeps me going at my job is knowing that I'll be out of the place in a couple of years to finish college.

Until then, I have to tolerate it no matter how hard it gets sometimes.

14. I don't want to go either
I used up most of my vacation taking last week off to work on renovating our ripped-apart house without MorningGlow Jr. underfoot (did his usual trip to grandma's each day) and MAN could I get into that! I really, REALLY liked not having to get up at the crack of dawn, hustle a toddler out the door, fling him at grandma, and plant my ass in an office for eight hours straight whether I liked it or not.

I do believe I am meant to be a woman of leisure! However...I am only managing to go back tomorrow because truth is we're broke. In fact, the mortgage payment is staring at me right now, from the top of a fairly high stack of bills. :(

Oh--and I'm carrying the family's medical insurance. I'm astounded how in the most advanced country on earth (allegedly), so many of us are slaves to medical insurance.
