DUers under the age of 20
I'm interested in how you came by your committment (I hope) to the public good and your political orientation / ideals.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am 54, but was a young dem while in high school.

2. Took a government and economics class
with a very liberal teacher.. I was already liberal, but I didn't pay attention to politics before I took that class. My teacher made it all very interesting, and since then I care more about the world around me..
As for why i'm a liberal.. well its nature vs nurture isn't it :)

3. It happened
Always seemed natural, and I always cared and was interested in politics, even as young as the age of nine. Didn't really figure out my affiliation until around 15 or 16, but from then on I was a staunch liberal (it had alot to do with my coming out). Didn't seem right not to care about politics or what is going on in today's world.

4. Well, I'm above 20. 28 to be exact.. I will chime in.
When I moved to Portland I moved in with a guy who was high up in the IWW. The wobblie introduced me to Walt Brown. After a few meetings with Walt I was a liberal. Up until that point I was a republican. I was currently going to school for economics.
