Are you an aggressive pedestrian?
Do you throw your briefcase at oncoming cars?

Do you deliberately dawdle in crosswalks?

Do you walk over cars blocking intersections?

Do you moon traffic jams?

Do you topple bicyclists?

Do you carry little old ladies across the street who don't want to go?

Inquiring minds want to know.

1. I shake my fist at SUVs.
Some monster from Virginia honked at us while we were going through the crosswalk. I'm not proud of it, but I shouted that he/she should go back to where he/she came from.

2. Yep!
I have seen people waiting at a crosswalk for 5 minutes, and agressively educated motorists on the state pedestrian laws. I have also thrown a meatball sub at a motorist speeding through a crosswalk as my family was crossing. (CT plates, surprise, surprise)

3. A serious answer to a not-so-serious question.
DC is Pedestrian Hell. Dante never imagined anything like it. Pit the country's rudest and most aggressive drivers against harried workers just trying to get from A to B and gaggles of tourists and there, pardon the cliche, is a recipe for disaster.

To that add the 90% of pedestrians who ignore red lights in their crosswalks (that is, when they use the crosswalks) and cross with oncoming traffic inches away from braining them. It's almost a sport: the idiot pedestrian trying to match wits against the aggressive driver gunning for him with a ton or two of steel.

As for, am I an aggressive pedestrian? Yes. I protect myself aggressively. I never cross unless I have a green light, and even then drivers turning left, or right on the red, get pissed that I'm in their way. I have been honked at, yelled at, and "chased" twice. Fortunately one of those times I was carrying an umbrella, and I stopped in the middle of the street and thumped the bitch's hood. Finally, one driver of a delivery van, when I said "I have the right of way," said "Fuck you, bitch" and threw his cig butt at me. I got the last laugh; he was making a delivery at my firm half a block down the street. I got his name & van # and reported him to his employer.

5. Hell yeah. Me and 8million other NYCers!
Especially bicyclists that go the wrong way down avenues. I step right in front of them. If I can plant my massive feet first, I will win. But it hurts lots more than it used to.

Get outtta my way here! Can't you see I'm Walkin? I'm walkin here!

Bonus points for the answer to the movie that's from, and the character.

7. I won't even go to minneapolis anymore because of callous pedestrians
They clearly jaywalk, see you, glare at you, and walk SLOWER as if they've got something to prove. WTF did I do to them?

It's called ROAD RAGE on their part, folks.

No, I am not joking, this uncivilized shit has happened so often that screw 'em. x(

With cell phone technology, I could call 911 on those bozos, but cops are more interested in those who drive 0.05MPH over the speed limit because they represent a bigger profit (yo, money is the root of all evil, so why do we still use it?)

And if the laws weren't geared to defending these jerks, I'd be tempted to run them down. Of course that would be road rage on MY part and I'm not that type of guy anyway.

Hey, I'm courteous enough to run through intersections, even when there's no traffic!

I should be glad though. It was night and I gave him a pitiful look (not an angry one). With the conceal and carry law, he probably would have shot me if he had seen ANY reaction on my part whatsoever.

Oh beans, where's the ice cream?
