Troops and Sports
I just read David Zirin's weekly sports column at his website edge of sports. I am wondering how other members of DU feel about how the leaders of team USA decided to use troops to motivate the basketball players on the team. I do not have a problem with team USA playing for the troops. I would hope that team USA did not expoilt the soldiers. It does seem to me that if someone is getting paids millions of dollars to play a sport you should not need any more motivation. I know the team is not gettig paid millions to play in the World Championship and the Olympics, they do get paid million for their in season play. To read the column just go to www.edgeofsports.com
