Cover me, boys; I'm going in!
We leave tomorrow morning to take another look at the house in New Hampshire, and there's a 99.9% chance we'll sign the papers to make an offer.

I can't wait. Wish we could move there next week, but we have to sell this place first.

Then (finally!) off to Canada. I'll be avoiding newspapers, TV and radio news, and the Internet while we're gone, as usual.

I trust you all can keep this place going until I get back. In fact, I know you can.

1. Consider yourself covered, my dear Redstone!
I will miss you while you're gone......

But it's all in a good cause, for sure!

Have a great trip!

The Lounge will eagerly await your return......

Bring home some pics, and stories, OK?

9. Will try to, but we're only going to be in Lanc'sta for a little while.
Will be touring the house (and probably filling out the offer paperwork) tomorrow evening, then will be pulling out early Saturday to head to Montreal...we're taking the Champlain Island route so the Little Guy can look for Champ.

We'll be in touch soon enough, you can count on that. And I promise I won't laugh at your hairdo.

(Sorry, I just couldn't resist.)

15. Oh, I don't doubt it. I know how you North Country Girls are.
Almost married a girl from Littleton 30 or so years ago.

Would have been the second or third worst mistake I ever made. Not because she's a North Country girl, mind you, just that she's the ultimate Type A personality, and I'm lazy.

55. I've followed passions such as music and jewelry-making and photography
in my life, and have found that the practical aspects of them are actually a validation: People you know will easily tell you what wonderful work you do, but only if they are willing to PAY for your work, are they telling the truth.

13. I hope so, too. The cool part is that the house is a local landmark, and
has a name that everyone in town recognizes.

It's "The Three Gables." I'll have to put that on my business cards, like those British addresses, yes? And spell out the address: "Twenty High Street."

Classy.

45. Profido's? Porfidio's? Something like that. Great place. I remember
back in the 1970s, they use to make "Syrian" sandwiches (buncha things stuffed into pita bread) that we'd buy and eat sitting on the wall in front of the library (which is now a museum).

But still a wonderful little store. Not ALL of the old Littleton is gone.

change much. In fact, it's still much like I remember it from 40 years abo when we lived across the river.

And if we want to buy crap, we could drive 20 minutes to Littleton, which has whored itself to all the national retailers, and has Walmart, Home Depot, Staples, and all that garbage.

Drive down Route 2 and come by to see us, OK?

A friend of a friend runs Chutter's in downtown (??) Littleton. It has the longest candy counter in the world, certified by Guinness. Plus, the candy is excellent, and they make their own fudge, which is divine.

:D
