So what'd you guys have for dinner?
It's my mom's birthday tonight, so we had some Dom Perigon before heading to the restaurant.

Then for dinner I had Mussels Fra Diavolo as an appetizer then some amazing linguine with white clam sauce & an escarole side for dinner. There were a couple bottles of some 2000 Chianti (I forget the exact name) with dinner. I'm so stuffed now.

Incidentally, the restaurant we ate at is owned by Joe Pesci's cousin and now I'm watching Good Fellas on TBS. It's the "you think I'm funny" scene right now.

I know, I know...but I'm stuck at work until 9 and I had a very limited amount of time to grab dinner.

What can I say? I'm tired and didn't feel like making anything elaborate tonight. Off to bed soon with a good book.

3. Dinner? It's 3:30 in the afternoon, fer Pete's sake!
oh right, not back East. :dunce:

My goodness. I had saved up a bag of Zippy's frozen chili (a local delicacy) for tonight, as tomorrow is Statehood Day out here, but it couldn't possibly compare to what sounds like the kind of Italian you'd get at the place down the street from Mom's weekend place in NJ.

23. We had patty melts and fresh veggies (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower,
tomatoes) and some fresh fruit (nectarines and REALLY fat juicy red grapes)

It was SO yummy; I had a migraine all day yesterday and couldn't keep anything but popsicles down, and felt too woozy still to eat much until I got home today, so I was REALLY hungry...

42. Chili Mac
Homemade vegetarian chili topped with sauteed onions, silken tofu "sour cream", soy "cheddar", and mixed beans served over pasta.

It's an old favorite of mine. I wanted to try to adapt it to see if it would retain its' charm, gone vegan. It didn't quite work. It just didn't come together as I'd hoped. The "cheese" just wouldn't melt and the silken tofu was wrong for the dish, but that can be left out. It was okay, but not good.
