The Chicago Air and Water Show is this weekend.
As I was leaving for work, the F-16's or whatever the hell they were were flying directly overhead, being extremely loud. Oh, joy. A whole weekend of this.

We recently had the Blue Angels for a weekend. I'll admit, they're fun to watch, but when they're just a noise they're fucking awful.

2. My mother was deafer than a post, but....
she could always hear those damn F-16s. The Air & Water Show is one of the few things that I do not miss since I no longer live on the Far North Side.

You may get a reprieve tomorrow, but Sunday is supposed to be beautiful. At least, I hope to hell that this horrible humidity is gone!

6. Well, at least one day.
And I hope the humidity is gone, also. I'd prefer not having to run my recently purchased air conditioner any more than I have to.

7. You are so right....my last electric bill was scary.
The temperature is not high enough to justify me turning the AC on, but today was the every other summer Friday that I get off work at 12:30 :D and just trying to do some housework was miserable. And it's not like I was moving furniture or doing anything strenuous.

8. I'm afraid of seeing next month's bill.
Same here. It's not hot enough to turn on the AC today. But I sure won't be doing any work around here. :-)

My bill went from around $20 to nearly $60. Two of the AC units here are really old and not very energy efficient. So I was not too surprised.

10. I HATE them! I just got my dog calmed down from July 4th and now this -
they fly right over my friggin' roof!! Nothing but military recruiting tactics, anyway.
