Funniest thing about Pluto is, (IIRC) when Percival Lowell "discovered" it, it was due to his calculations about perturbations in Neptune's orbit, so he inferred a planet must be there...but later it turned out his calculations were wrong. On top of that, Pluto's mass is so small, it would have no appreciable influence on Neptune's orbit anyway.

So he was looking for a planet that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
