1. I am, of course
:hi:

Five hours. They've been playing for FIVE hours. What is it with the Astros and these megathons? Cubs used Zambrano to pinch hit. Zambrano. I mean, for a pitcher, he can hit (ever see him run out a triple? It's great), but...he's a pitcher.

2. its because the Astro's
can't hit to save their lives. They have one bonafide bat, Berkman, I was really surprised Houston didn't add a bat at the trade deadline, there line up has a lot of youngsters, but nobody bonafide. Now if Bagwell was back to form, this game would have been over by now...

And Zambrano, I didn't think they would put him in, what a riot!...:)

5. Minute Maid Park is so goddamn small,
I'm shocked, first, that the score isn't higher than it is (almost two full games have been played, and only 12 runs scored?), and second, that someone hasn't smashed it out of there at some point in the last eight innings. :)

6. Yep, I share your thoughts!
either side of the ball, and I can't believe Lidge is still a panzy, good old Pujols really put the fear into last post season. Lidge hasn't been the same since...

9. That's okay...the Cards are floundering, too, as I'm sure you know.

I was ecstatic that I actually saw a win tonight (and a 4-hit shutout at that!). Looks like a lot of the NL Central is going to have some work to do in the off-season. That's the great thing about sports, though--you can always look forward to next year. :)

11. yeah, the NL Central is still up for grabs
hard to believe the cards dont' have a strangehold on the division. On paper, they are the best team, but the injuries have really hampered the Cards big time...and consistancy issues.

19. We need another reliable, Carpenter-esque starter.
Mark Buehrle has shown significant interest in coming to the Cardinals since he's from the area, but it sounds like the White Sox will have him for another year, at least. Anthony Reyes shows a lot of promise, but he's still young.

We need bullpen help, too, beginning with a reliable closer. Isringhausen drives me up a wall...:banghead:

This isn't going to be the Cards' year; barring a miracle, I'm positive of that. I'd just as well tell them to make the best of this season, and bring in the necessary changes this winter. Last year, I think Jocketty was hesitant to make changes, seeing as we were just games away from the WS, but I think this season will make him reevaluate a bit more.

Until then, though, I'm going to enjoy what's left of this season. Baseball has a special place in my heart. :)

Sox lose to KC - wheeeee!

But I cannot believe I am still up. I also got home in 25 minutes which is nearly a land speed record leaving Cominsky.

10. was up at Comisky
in Aug of 2000...White Sox handed my Mariners their worst beating in club history, and I was there to "witness" that disaster. I believe the final score was like, 23-2...I was ready to leave after three innings...but, I stayed, but the Sox fans were consoling(to a small degree)....:)

no, they were pretty nice
nicer than I deserved, because they day before, there was a double header, and my Mariners beat them twice in a row....:) I rubbed it in with some Sox fans at work, and whammo, next day, M's worst beating, and of course I am there to witness it, in all its gory frustration...

29. You got it
When a game goes that long, I'm always hoping it'll go into the 20s.

I vaguely remember a doubleheader between the Giants and Mets in 1964. The second game went 22 innings, I think. First game started at 1 p.m. Second game ended around 11:30 p.m.
