I want to play hooky from work tomorrow and I have
plenty of sick leave to use up before the end of the year, like 7 days. I want to go shopping tomorrow because my local Kohl's gives a 10% discount to anyone over 55 on Wednesdays, for which I qualify. So I am going to call in sick, so could anyone suggest a believable medical excuse. I was going to say that I have a stomach bug, but I have used that before. I have also used the hurt-my-back excuse, so that won't work either. I have plenty of vacation time, but I don't want to use that up right now. I want to take some sick time because I never use it up by the end of the year and at my company it's "use it or lose it." Last year, I lost 7 days sick leave because I was never sick.

3. I was considering that, but have to come up with a food
that poisoned me. I ate a frozen Cajun seafood dish tonight. Maybe that will work.

10. I usually go with bad Chinese food
Though I'm veggie, so my possibilities for food poisoning are limited.

13. fish is always a good choice
when lying though, the best thing to do is to keep it short and simple. If you really did have food poisoning and felt like hell, you wouldn't stay on the phone for 10 minutes describing what you ate because you wouldn't want to think about it much less talk about it in detail.

7. I like using those medical tests that
people are expected to get that nobody wants to talk about. Bosses accept them unconditionally because they don't want to be nosy and they don't really want to know anything about it. Colonoscopy works well and it's reusable. So does any sort of sleep disorder testing, especially EEG.

8. OMG, I don't want to go as far as clonoscopy..
But sleep disorder testing might be believable.

9. I think I will use the food poisoning excuse, but will
have to explain in a delicate way that I was in the bathroom on the toilet with diarrhea all night along with vomiting.

14. Yeah, you definitely need two days off for a colonoscopy...
Nor do you want anything that would show up on medical insurance when you aren't doing anything that will require a real claim. IOW, you don't want to be in a situation where there should be a paper trail -- and there isn't one.

Try stomach flu. Or food poisoning. That is a popular one where I work, so it seems.

15. You were up all night with a horrible
migraine. It's starting to feel better but noise and light still hurts..but at least you're not throwing up anymore. You need to get some sleep. Right?
