if they put it on at 10:30 eastern, that'll give them an hour and a half on one night a week of Futurama/Daily Show/Colbert.

I'm racking my brain trying to think of a better hour and a half of three straight shows, but nuthin'.

(I was only born in '87, though; I don't exactly have "historical context" on my side. :D)

2. I saw Futurama for the first time

a week ago. I'd always pooh-poohed it refusing to give it the time of day (having NEVER seen it). Well, my friends FINALLY broke through my self-imposed ignorance and I LAUGHED SO HARD the tears were uncontrollable and my sides hurt the next day. We'd watched several episodes in German (pretty good translations) then finally Al, who doesn't do Englisch, thought it would be appropriate for me to hear it in the original, since they'd all seen the episodes over and over and over again. Everyone was entertained by my reactions (I was hollerin' screamin' laughin' and crying while clutching my sides and rolling on the couch, demanding the pause button be hit long enough for me to compose myself for the next one-liner). We NOW have a date for me to EXPLAIN the references they missed...
