A few too many shots. On a Monday night no less! I am a lush!

At least I don't have work until later. I need to eat some lunch soon.

13. See ProfessorGAC's post in my high school thread
His high school had the same mascot name, but only the school's light tower was used as the symbol. Never heard of that name, for a goat or otherwise. Interesting!

Sure, they are done to death, but they are bound to never cause controversy (like Indian mascots) or embarrass you. :P Although I do have to say I am glad I didn't go to UC-Santa Barbara, home of the Banana Slugs! :spray:

Maybe you would prefer the "Pukin' Pembrokes"? :D

20. Mascots
Undergraduate - Catholic University of America Cardinals. (They can't make up their mind between the bird and the guys in the scarlet beanies and keep switching.)

Graduate - University of Chicago Maroons (I don't know that this counts though, it was only a distance-learning professional certificate.)

Hopeful Future Graduate School - New York University Violets. (I want to get my Masters in the new Fundraising Development program but so do about 6,000 other people for less than 20 openings.)

23. The Fighting Christians of Elon College.
It's a Christian college founded by the United Church of Christ in 1889. They changed the mascot (in 2000, I think), because, hey, not everybody is a Christian.

Now it's Elon University, and their mascot is a Phoenix.

How sad is that? I'm glad they changed it, not because not everyone is a Christian, but because Christians shouldn't be fighting.

I'm UCC, btw.

30. I attended your school for two summer sessions
It was to get my 4-12 English endorsement a few years after graduating CWU. I loved it! Great professors, and a beautiful campus. I remember in '97, walking across Red Square when a 5.0 quake hit, lol. You could say going to shcool there made the earth move for me. ;-)

33. I had great fun in Ellensburg
I did enjoy the smaller classes and ease of access around town and the campus. I never needed my car until I went home for breaks. Or the occasional run to Village Pizza in Roslyn. And could the weather change! In October of one year, it was 90 the first of the month, and on Halloween, it snowed!

47. We didn't have a "mascot"
I went to Central Michigan University, home of the Chippewas -- a name we wear proudly and will NEVER give up due to the latest spasms of political correctness. The NCAA has yanked our chain a couple or three times about it and always back right the eff off when they are informed that (a) the Saginaw Chippewas (of Jack Abramoff fame) have given us their blessings to use the name so long as (b) we don't dress some white kid up in greasepaint and fake native American regalia. Hence, no mascot.
The tribe also gives the university millions of dollars from the proceeds of their casino at Mount Pleasant. So it's cool all the way around.

48. Which One?
Undergrad was The Flyers. There was an airport there, and a flight school, and aviation engineering school, too.

The first grad school i went to had no athletic department at all, so no mascot. (I guess the mascot was a textbook or something.)

I also went to DePaul grad school for mathematics, so that's Blue Demons.

Then i went to Kellogg for an MBA with a focus in economics. So, that's Wildcats.

Take your pick!
The Professor
