I'm addicted to it. According to last.fm I listened to it on average about 6 times a day last week. The entire album. And I'm still amazed by it.

The first single from the album, for those who are thinking "Who the fuck...?" -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60mkNo1Ap5Q

is just amazing. I love it.

I have been listening to "Make You Mine" by Heather Nova today, and then I crossed over to "The Crying Game" by Boy George. So I've been playing the same two songs over and over.

38. Now I'm on to some samples
From:

Jonas Brothers - didn't like Hanson when they started out. Came to like their newer stuff. Maybe the Jonas Brothers will also grow, but right now their bubblegum sounds like it borders too much on the immature. Not just in lyrics, which aren't very important for this kind of music.

Kristy Frank - this was pop/rock that underwhelmed me.

Pink Spiders - definitely will check them out more! Sounds like good pop/punk.

Edited on Wed Aug-16-06 07:14 PM by mvd
Hem - Rabbit Songs
Weepies - Say I Am You
Mojave 3 - Puzzles Like You

Loved all of them. Hem is not very poppy, but they do very accomplished work. Nice for ruminating.

Got Nina Gordon's Bleeding Heart Graffiti, and have listened to a that a LOT. Nina's exactly my kind of music artist!

My next two purchases, when I get the money, will be:

The Pink Spiders - Teenage Graffiti
The Damnwells - Air Stereo

I was just at amazon.com, and wasn't surprised that Larry Davis ("powerpoplarry") also loves the Pink Spiders. I used to chat with him on a now closed message board, and he introduced me to quite a few artists. Our tastes overlap a lot, especially in the pop/rock and power pop categories. Some of the other artists we have in common as far as loving are: Nina Gordon, Kay Hanley/Letters To Cleo, Leslie Mills, Courtney Jaye, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Damone, Neil Young, Dirtie Blonde, Sigur Ros...
