:(

They seemed very cool and down to earth.

NEW YORK - Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson are splitting up after nearly six years of marriage, said her publicist, Brad Cafarelli.

"Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson have confirmed that they are separated," Cafarelli told The Associated Press on Monday.

1. Big age difference between the two.
She's coming into her own now and realizing who she is while he's already been down that path (more than likely).

They seemed happy together but I'm not surprised about the split. She was young when she got married and she's probably changed so much since then, not in a bad way but in a normal way.

5. Getting the little one into the school routine.
I leave work at seven, get her up and ready for school just like she will do on Wed (first day here).

For the past week we've been laying our clothes out at night, making our lunch, etc. Time to get used to the old routine again.

Are you ready for classes yet?

15. I dunno, those two are like perfect for each other. They are great actors
but suffer from the "I'm AN ACTAH!", ala russell crowe. They just take themselves far, far FAR too seriously.

They should all lighten up. They ain't savin' lives.

6. Well, call me a goober,
but on some level I always find it a bit sad when a couple (even a celebrity couple whom I don't personally know) split up. Yeah, even Tom Cruise.

starts giving a rat's patoot about the quality and depth of my relationships, -I'll start caring about the quality and depth of his.

That makes me sad too. I so thought that those two kids were going to make it. I think MY world might fall apart if Gwenyth and chris Martin Split. Those two are so awesome together. You're not alone, Mrs. Grumpy.

12. It's only news in Hollywood when a couple 'stays' together.
I expect every couple in Hollywood to break up. It's got to be very rare that any marriage lasts there.
And that is very, very sad. :(

13. When Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe broke up I realized...
...that Hollywood Marriages are a joke. I mean I swore those 2 were going to last but even that went belly-up.

Perhaps people like Tim Robbins/Susan Saradon and Kurt Russell/Goldie Hawn have the best attitude with just skipping the marriage part and having long productive relationships

Easy in their skin, not affected...or something like that. Rare to see in a star.

23. We never hear about the hollywood marriages that last...
Denzel Washington and his wife have been married for 20+ years...

Morgan Freeman and his wife have been together much longer than that...

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker have been married for almost 10 years...

I KNOW there are others that we don't hear about. Here we non-celebrities are with our 50%+ divorce rates - yet we point to Hollywood as something weird or different? What's up with THAT?

25. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are one of the longest lived.
I guess I just liked these two. I don't know why. I think sometimes we want to see them succeed at something we ourselves find difficult.

:eyes:

Sorry Grumpy...I hate celebrity gossip.
Who really cares???

Do you know how many kids are in a broken home every day and it never gets on the teevee? At least these two have money to make their kids lives ok.

29. I am addicted to celebrity gossip of some sorts...
Avid People Magazine reader....***subscriber**** but I'll deny it.

Can't help it.

My parents are divorcing after 40 years of marriage...and lots of misery for their children. This could perhaps be for the best in the long run.

30. Oh, I think divorce is most certainly
a good thing sometimes. Sometimes people are just not meant to be together, even after a long period of time.

Some things are meant to be, some are not! :)

I guess Kate and what's his face are not meant to be! :)
