A Grasshopper and the Ant - family problem

Okay.. imagine if you will....

Patriarch of family spends entire life screwing around so that now in old age he is comfortably middle class but not swimming in cash...this person had many opportunities laid before him...but he envisioned himself the "gentlemen farmer"....

This guy has a bunch of kids and now he wants them to help him realize his dream of a vacation home...he has the property but has no means by which he can actually build this house....and nothing but the best will do....mention that he could slap a trailer on this bit of beachfront and he wouldn't speak to you for a year....

Meanwhile all his kids are rather frugal because having been raised in a financially insecure household all their lives...they don't like the idea of being so "free" with their money.

So.....what do ya think?

I say stay away...far away...

and the kids have a right to keep their money for their own retirement.

4. I think he would have to ask for the money to buy the trailer too..

and that is what is really bizarre...

I don't know why he purchased that land in the first place...given that he would never have the cash to build on it...
