Is picking your nose in DC vogue now?

During my visit to DC this weekend, I saw six people, openly and without much shame, dig for nasal gold in public. Some look like they were about to dust their eyeballs, they were going so deep. The woman (looked like Cree Summer, mind you, this was no tree sloth) sitting across from me on the damned Red Line to Gallery Place was doing the twin pinkie scrape at least 10 times. Is this a new trend, cause as bad as Duh-HIGH-Ah is, at least I only see that in the office.
