Tell us about the wonderful, good blessings in your life.
I have shelter, food, and a job that most of the time gets me by. I have friends and a few family members that are there for me.

Count your blessings. Let us hear about them.

Happiness and fulfillment to all of us, I wish. :)

2. Despite constant whining, I DO have some
I have a loving husband who supports me no matter what. I have the best sister in the universe (you know her as Bullwinkle925). I have three sweet kitties who are delightful company. I have a few friends who are always there for me. I have a lovely home, enough to eat and good books to read.

Thanks for posting this, Floogeldy!

3. My good hubby, two surviving daughters, two beautiful grandkids,
my home, great in-laws (THAT'S a REAL blessing!), insurance to help pay for some health issues, one vehicle that runs well and a cell phone to call for help when the other one dies. Food in the fridge. A tolerable job.
All of you lovely people!!

5. My hubby tops the list!
Also, my 2 cats, my family, my home, my job (as difficult as it is, sometimes), and my health. I have very much to be grateful for, really!

It is good to remember the good things, especially because there are so many less unfortunate people in the world.

14. Have several
First and foremost, my wife, a wonderful blend of idealism, practicality, hard nosed realism, generous compassion, intelligence, and more creativity and people skills than I could ever think of having. With her, she brought unbounded confidence in me and my abilities, and at a time when I was doubting myself, she never did.

She also brought more blessings with her, in the form of kitties, which I had always admired, but never had a chance to live with. Their unconditional love, playful antics, generous caring and all around wonderfullness is something I will always be grateful for.

I am also thankful to be blessed with scientific and technical skills that have made a decent living for us. For the longest time, I thought I had no talent, because I wasn't creative in the traditional artistic sense.

We have a good home, more than enough to eat and enjoy, lots of emergency supplies (comes with living with a retired paramedic!), and time and resources to give to our shared causes and to enjoy in our new home.

Though I'm in quite a bind over the housing situation, I am determined to not let it get me down too much, and to enjoy life as much as possible. It's been an incredibly transformative time, personally, over the past year. For the good. :)

41. I'm lucky enough to believe in guardian angels
I don't know how else to explain my luck in life...and as an Atheist, my subject line makes absolutely no sense but neither does my luck so whatever. Here are the first two stories of a life full of weird luck:

1. Preschool. I was adored. I don't recall being any nicer, prettier or smarter than any of the other kids but the owners treated me like I was dipped in gold. I have faint memories of the other kids screaming. The sound of their skin being slapped and hit. I never said anything because I was terrified of them even though they favored me. Years later the preschool was shut down for child abuse. I still feel guilty for not saying anything but I keep reminding myself I was only 4 years old.

2. Summer camp. I was either 7 or 8 at the time. On the second to last day of camp, my friend and I were sitting on a park bench away from the other kids when one of the camp counselors came by to talk to us. He wasn't my counselor so I didn't know him but according to the other campers he was the cool counselor. My friend told him that she really liked his sunglasses and they talked back and forth before my friend ran off to talk to someone else. Next thing I know, I'm sitting with this guy alone and he asks me if I like his sunglasses. I didn't care either way but I told him I liked them to be nice. He tells me that he'll give them to me the next day (on the last day of camp)only if I agree to meet him behind the big tree on the far north east corner of the camp grounds. Ignorant me didn't think much of it so I said ok. He told me the deal was off if I told anyone else about this secret.

The next morning my mom woke me up and told me she decided to stay home from work and she asked if I wanted to stay home with her. I always preferred home to camp because I grew up in Texas and it's hot as hell out there. I remember thinking briefly that morning "oh darn, I don't get the cool sunglasses".

I won't bore you the other weird stories but I will conclude that I am lucky. As an adult I have a loving family and very little drama and I remind myself of this everyday.

50. Stand back...give me room
I have a roof over my head, a (paid for) car in my garage. My electricity, water, phone and internets are on. I have my health and my sanity (shut up, I do). I have a good job, which I telecommute for largely, and I'm in control of my destiny there. My animal rescue is in trouble, but the animals aren't. My mother and brother are doing well. My partner is enjoying life. I hope to have company before the end of the month. Company I've been waiting a long time to get together with. I have health insurance, though it's not the best. My mind is sound. My body is genetically gifted. I help people every day, for free. I'm among the most musclular guys at my gym. I'm embraced by my local animal control constable. I'm secure in who I am. I have friends in very high places (in my charitable trade). I have drive that bills with the Gods. I have a fridge FULL of beer and tofu.

Lastly, I know a great group of folks of which I'm proud to be a part. DU.

So I've been avoiding this thread. I'd look at it and go, "Yeah, right."

But it worked.

I've got a roof over my head. I like my job most of the time. All of my kids are healthy and safe and trying to kill each other most of the time which means they're perfectly normal, too.

I have friends that I can lean on when the shit gets bad -- and they've gotta have some soggy, sore shoulders these days. I have all of you.

I don't know what else I could reasonably ask for.

Well, except that cabana boy, of course.

62. I'm married and I have a wonderful wife and wonderful children.
Most of all I wonder, how did this happen to me?

Before I met my wife I always figured I'd be the peculiar guy working alone in the corner of a medical lab and writing bad science fiction forever.

"Who is that guy?"

"I don't know really, he doesn't talk much, but he does good work."

"Oh. Does he always wear the same clothes?"

"Um, I think those are actually differant clothes, they all just look the same. Five pairs of Levis 501's, five teeshirts, and two pairs of black Chuck Taylor All Stars."

64. I'm very blessed
with family and friends whom I love. The real blessing is that they love me in return.

I'm blessed with everything I need & somethings I want.
I'm also blessed that I don't get some of the things I deserve. :scared:

66. I have some good friends and good family
Shelter and food over my head

I'm feeling well again after being confined to a wheelchair for two weeks

I can take solace in my religion and I truly believe I have a God who listens and loves.

72. Okay, here goes.
My husband is healthy again after a horrific scare earlier this summer. God only knows what would have happened if we hadn't caught his heart issues.

My three kids are amazing and the light of my life. I absolutely adore them. They are all turning out to be compassionate liberals and that's what it is all about.

I have nice house, a nice car, air conditioning, food in the fridge, great friends, great job.

Couldn't ask for more at this point. Unless it is on a grander scale, then there is a ton I would ask for.

73. I get to raise the smartest, funniest, sweetest, most amazing kid ever.
Somebody really wonderful found his way into my life. He's such a good listener and I admire his generosity of spirit greatly. Oh, and he's hawt. :P

I'm going back to school, hopefully to do something really cool and useful when I'm all done.
