Dodger's Fans - You owe us
Maddux is pitching great now. He just got Bonds out and has retired 19 in a row. Damn, he is awesome.

(Gotta say Izturis is playing pretty good, tho).

1. Isn't he, though?
God, I miss Maddux...I could've cried when they traded him, Izturis or no...

*sigh*

3. I just went and checked...

Classic Maddux. His pitch count, after 7....60. 43 for strikes.

That's less than 10 pitches per inning.

(edited...68 after 8. Infuckincredible. By contrast, Schmidt's got 106. And only one out in the 8th.)

2. Everyone is better upon leaving the Cubs.
Because it's not the players. It's the organization.

4. Hendry's gotta go.
And what do they do? Sign him for two more years.

Idiots.

Rothschild...one man wrecking crew.

Organization needs an overhaul. Talented players...no brains in the front office.

5. The Curse of Leo Durocher
Forget 1908, and all that stuff...in fact, from 1908-45, the Cubs were an extremely successful organization, winning many pennants, which is more important than the fact that they never were able to pull off a Series. Then they went in to the toilet, and didn't emerge until the late 60s...and they had a NL East pennant they *should* have won in 1969, and didn't, because Durocher wound them all up tighter than a drum, and forgot that catchers can't catch 162 games and remain sentient...that team was so much better than the Mets, it isn't funny...and, though I hate saying it, Mr Cub wasn't really helping them by then, either...but who was going to say so?...I think the echoes of that collapse are still being heard in the Friendly Confines...

6. Yup...
It all collapsed. I dunno though, Mr. Cub is, was and always will be Mr. Cub. Him, Sweet Billy Williams and Ron Santo...to me they Are that team.

"Let's play two."

*sigh*
