How much do you give for presentation at a wedding......
my niece is getting married next weekend. It'll be a fairly casual ceremony, I think a buffet.

I don't want to be cheap, so what should I give?

1. I give anywhere from $50.00 (If I don't know them well) to $200.00...
...for close family members.

4. Give what you can afford and what feels right.
The formality of the wedding has nothing to do with amount of the gift. It's a family wedding and they should have some understanding of your budget constraints.

3. I try to be the gravy boat guy
Got to be quick on the trigger, though. There are other gravy boat guys out there.

In other words, it's the thought that counts. And my thinking is find the thing that they only request one of--gravy boat, waffle iron, etc. They're not going to remember who got them which towel or place setting, but they'll remember that you got the gravy boat. Should fall within your budget.

5. there used to be a guideline, i don't know who made it up but it was
if you give cash it should be about the cost of your meal and your guests if you bring one.
