So I had all of my hair chopped off.....

A little history. My hair is dry and brittle due to hypothyroidism. I had a bob that required blow drying and styling every day, and that was not only a hassle but a source of damaging stress to my hair. In the Spring I had a notion that getting a body wave would be a good idea as it would be wash and go, eliminating the need for the damaging blow-styling every day.

Unfortunately the perm fried my hair and every day I'd lose a huge handful or more. Eventually it got so bad that I had noticeable sections where shorter chunks were sticking out because entire sections had broken off. No matter how much I pampered it with conditioners, hot-oil treatments and the like it wouldn't improve. I had to resort to drastic measures.

I decided to get it all cut off and start from scratch. Now I have very little left but it's relatively healthy and I'm going to pamper it every step of the way as it grows out.

It also makes my hair look a bit darker (it's technically dark blonde but closer to the roots it looks more light brown) so I get two changes for the price of one.
