Help! I can't figure out wear to plug my playback kit into my Xbox

Help! I can't figure out wear to plug my playback kit into my Xbox
It says to plug it into the controller. First, is the controller the (console) or the hand held controller. I know this sounds stupid but the xbox instructions show a pisture that looks like it plugs into the console. I tried that but it doesn't fit. the (hand held) controller has two plugs. The playback kit fits in one but doesn't fit in the other. Could I have the wrong kit?

1. You mean dvd playback kit?
It goes into one of the controller slots on the Xbox itself (where you would plug the controller into).

What plugs into the controller. It's square.

4. I'm not completely sure...
All I know is that the kit my roommates have has a receiver that plugs into the Xbox itself, and a remote control.
