1. I've been to Grasmere, where she lived, and I think she was
an enabler of pure squirrel evil disguised as an author. :P There's a Beatrix Potter shop in Grasmere with everything you can imagine. She's just a little too cute with her squirrels, which means she's an enabler.

2. When I visited there a long time ago, they had a pub on the grounds.
I'm sure that is where the poor squirrels were seduced to the dark side.

Windermere was one of my favorite places to stay, and it's not that far from her house. That is if memory serves.

3. You are correct.
The Lake District is gorgeous! :) And the pub is still there on the grounds. I was there in 2000, and it was a lot of fun to go to. Windermere is just down the road from her house. :)

5. We stayed at the catering hotel right on the lake (Grasmere)
I was in the in-house pub, when all the power went out because of a storm. It was very Miss Marple.

4. I have also been to Grasmere, and to Hilltop Farm, and I agree!
Squirrel Nutkin... cute plushie animal, or destroyer of birdhouses? The latter, methinks!
