Strange weather we're having

Boise Idaho, 8:40 pm today.

Mom and daughter #1 went to see "An Inconvenient Truth" and I and daughter #2 went fishing nearby.
A storm came up that had us running back to the house. No rain just wind with gusts to over 40 mph.
Emergency services dealing with a bunch of fires and downed power lines.
Have no idea how you control a fire in this wind.
Interstate is closed and city roads closed to all but emergency traffic.
When the movie is over people will come outside to see the sky full of
dust and the smell of smoke is heavy. The power is doing that dim to full thing right now.

2. It IS a little bizarre. Everyone is home thanks.

The intensity of our weather squalls seems to be increasing over the last year or two especially.
I have the feeling it's that way just about everywhere else.
