Can I ask for some positive thoughts for my brother, even though he is
a Republican.

He's a landscaper / arborist. Despite the fact that I've been nagging him for years about climbing trees, he fell 40 feet out of one yesterday. Onto a ladder.

Broke seven bones, including two breaks in his pelvis. Knocked all of his front teeth. May have to have surgery tonight for a punctured lung from the broken ribs.

He has a damn collecge degree in landscape design (which I paid the tuition for; he's considerbaly younger than me). I've been nagging him for twenty years: "Do you want to be fifty years old and still climbing trees? You have the degree, just design the damn projects and have someone else do the dangerous work."

Maybe NOW he'll listen to me.

Guess I'll be going to Philadelphia in a few days to visit. He's at U of Penn hospital, and hospitals don't get much better than that one, so long-term, he'll be OK.

But he's not too happy right now. Any good wishes would be appreciated.

2. Good thoughts for your brother, Redstone.
Political affiliation is a moot point when someone is hurt or ill. Hope he mends well, and mends soon.

4. Fuck his voting record. He's a person
AND he's related to and cared about by someone I care about. All my positive thoughts are headed his way.

I hope he recovers fully and completely with minimal pain, suffering and "downtime" so to speak.

22. Oh, of COURSE I won't. One of the things I always try to look out for
is to make sure that I never make anyone feel any worse than they already do. I hate that when someone does it to me, so I'm damn careful not to do it inadvertently to someone else.

If Mrs R drops something she really likes and breaks it, for example, I'd NEVER say "well, I told you you needed to be careful with that," even if I had told her that before.

It's just cruel to do that, and I am continually amazed that so many people do it, albeit unthinkingly in most cases.

And good luck on pursuing a career more in line with his training.

My bro' votes incorrectly as well, but I would wish no harm on him either.

11. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for him
OMG Redstone..that's an awful fall. He has my prayers that he heals completely and with no complications.

I suspect he'll be leary of going up those trees in the future. My DH and his ladder fell about 12ft onto concrete about 1 1/2 yrs ago. He avoids ladders and heights now.

16. The "republican" part was a bit of a joke to relieve the stress, is all
it was. He's not an asshole about it.

The news as of just now is good, or as good as it can be in this kind of situation. No punctured esophagus from the broken ribs, nor likely a punctured lung either.

Sigh of relief, right here.

through reading your post imagining the horrible pain he must have experienced sustaining such injuries. I am totally empathizing with him even tho I've never experienced such injury myself. I wish him great healing and all of you the strength to get through this, Redstone.
