our apt. bldg. :grr: The noise, the inconvenience, and the downright rudeness of everyone involved was almost too much to take. For example: The carpet guys came in unannounced while my roommates and I were in class. They shoved and slammed all of our possessions all over the apartment, and it looked like the place had been vandalized. The only reason I knew it was new carpet was the fact that carpeting nails were strewn all over the place. They smashed several picture frames of my roommate's and ripped the hell out of my mattress. I called the apt. office to complain, and they said they had told us. BULLSHIT! No one knew about it. We filed a formal complaint, and all they did was knock $50 off the next month's rent. No offer to replace the damaged stuff. :grr: I was 20 years old, and I learned a big lesson from it.
Oh, and to top it all off, the carpet was LOUSY. The quality was poor, and the carpet guys did a shitty job putting it in. And guess what? They wanted to hold part of our security deposit when we moved out because of "wear and tear" on the carpet. It had only been in place for six months. :grr: We went back and held our ground, and we got the whole deposit back after a lot of wrangling.
 I feel your pain. I'm really sorry it's so sucky.
