Why do they call them sunflowers?
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 10:08 PM by Ptah
I grew two varities this year.

I thought if there was a bee on the
package, I should get a bee on the plant. Sounds fair?

So far so good.

Maybe they are called sunflower beacuse they look so good in the sun.

1. Thank you for contributing such beautiful flowers to the Earth.
Including, contributing to the well being of God's creatures and the soil.

I love sunflower seeds.

11. Ah, Good, Ya Got It
I was too lazy to repost.

Ain't it funny that before we could even see sunspots up close, we had their image?

14. It's even better,
I am employed at an observatory that does extensive solar
astronomy, and the sunspots do look
like sunflowers.

I always think of Van Gogh when I see that one image. Yah, he was possessed, all right.

The first two PMs I get will be in line to hear
a passionate rant.

Hurry before they're gone

19. So, since there were no requests for pm, I'll spill here.
If I ever hear anyone else speak of sodomy
as prison justice, I will puke down your throat
until you drown.

That is all.

15. Beautiful pictures. I have grown the big sunflowers and
saved seeds to feed birds in winter. Many years ago
I would ride my horse through a field of sunflowers
as high as the horse's head. Those were wonderful summers.
Thank you, Ptah.

29. Do you live in MD???
I drive by a field of sunflowers everyday. They looked perky and happy.

About 2 weeks ago, the flowers shrivled up, plants are still standing, I guess lack of water
