9. Ava is a sensitive sixteen year old. I wish all DUers could have

been more kind to her, when voicing certain criticisms. Many people's comments could rip bark off of a tree.

14. I don't buy that.

The only criticisms I saw were pretty mild and respectful. This is a highly impressive young woman who had the nerve and poise to shrug off organized salvos of death threats from Freepers, so I have trouble believing that mere criticism from an individual Lounge Lizard here and there ran her off.

That being said, I sure do miss the updates. She does good, solid work for an artist of ANY age.

11. I miss hearing the latest updates on her progress

...and feeling like one among us is making giant strides to get the word out. It was inspiring.

But all these posts talking about people having chased her off... I never saw them. I saw us rallying around Ava, and it made me proud. Where were the personal attacks? Were they promptly deleted before I saw them? Were people actually attacking her?
I'm not playing dumb here - I honestly don't know. I've been wondering if this was like one of those games of "telephone" where the story morphs as it gets passed along. I mean - I know the Lounge can be a cruel place...but I would be surprised if it was that cruel, especially to someone we were so proud of.
