This flippin' movie sucks me in every time.
The Ninth Gate with Depp.

And really, it's not that good. And why does it alwasys start so late. Fuck, now I'm going to have to stay up and watch it. Here's to being tired tomorrow.

1. I've never been able to figure it out.
It puts me into a hypnotic trance, then when it ends, I don't know what I was watching.

2. I've seen the whole movie...
But I'm not sure I've ever seen it all in one sitting. It's rather odd.

3. I am not a movie fan, usually. But I am a Depp fan.
I actually sat down and watched that movie. It is a reasonably good movie. :)

7. I'm not sure what it is about the movie.
It gets rather corny at times. Angelic people flying around...demons...secret cults. It's so odd, it's good.

6. The Club Dumas
the book it was based on (by Arturo Perez-Reverte) is so much better ... yeah, I know ... the book is always better than the movie ... in this case though, it is especially true ... the tone of the book is completely changed in the movie (to a great extent through the score, I think) to something much more upbeat than how it reads ... and I think Johnny Depp is a tremendously talented actor, but was miscast in this role

9. I was just thinking that.
I can't believe you just said that, right as I was thinking it. I was thinking to myself how odd and cartoonish the score was at a particular moment. I totally agree.

I'll have to check out that book. Maybe after I'm done with Senator Byron Dorgan's new one.

11. I'm not even sure I LIKE the damn movie.
There's just something about it that draws me in. I watch it every time.

That's not saying much, however, because I'll still sit down and watch an entire episode of "Saved by the Bell" too.

Unexplainable.
