Do you want to know how hot it was today?
My wife works in NW Arkansas, and today she left her pack of cigarettes, with her lighter inside the pack in her car. After work she got into her car and saw cigarettes, the cigarette box, and lighter pieces strewn all over the place...

It was so hot, her lighter exploded. We are lucky it didn't start a fire inside her car...I have no idea how hot it was in Bentonville today, but in SW Missouri it was 101 according to my outside thermometor.

1. Wow! I'm glad no one got hurt.

Good thing it didn't start a fire.

Today's been the day for threads on exploding lighters!!

Hopefully, it will start to cool down a bit. It has already
on the West coast.

6. Pete, the inside of your car can get to as much as 30º hotter than it is
outside.

A car is like an oven when it sits in the sun.
Depending on the type of car and the windows, the temperatures can hit 30º higher in the car than it is outside.

A foldout cardboard dashboard sun blocker is worth it's weight in gold in the summer.
I've even seen some cars with little pull-down green shades for the back window when I was driving through Kansas.

11. damn
it hasn't been that hot here...yet. The hottest temp I have ever been in was in Sac about three years ago, it was 114, I about died, I couldn't even go outside to smoke a simple cigarette, that was how unbearable it was...

That summer, lots of cold beer and ice...;)
