What were you in your former life?
I believe I was a saloon girl, Abilene, Kansas, circa 1880.

My dog may have been Jimi Hendrix. I mean, every time I play Hendrix on my stereo, she sits right next to the speaker and begins playing air guitar.

What say you?

1. I was an artist in Paris in the 1870s.
I also posed for Monet and Renoir, which was terribly scandalous!

10. I was a slave on a South Carolina plantation who died in 1855.
Several times I was severely beaten, once when objecting to my wife and children being sold to different people.

In 1855 I contracted typhus from rat feces that contaminated water in my "quarters." Weakened by years of poor nutrition, I at least died quickly, although not before beaten one more time for "laziness," the alleged laziness resulting from my condition of being prostrate with a high fever. I'd didn't give much of a shit one way or the other about dying.

I never saw a doctor in my life.

I was buried next to some dead mules.

The one good thing I did was to learn to read, which was illegal for me in those times. Nobody ever knew but the young lady who taught me.

11.  I visited a Medium
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 10:41 PM by Liberalynn
once for fun in a public session, and the second time I went for a private meeting because she actually gave specific things in the first session, that couldn't have been gained from a cold reading, like an actual nickname that I was called as a child by a mean teacher, not just it began with the letter, like they usually do. She actually said it out right.

That and the fact that I had tripped over a rug that morning which no one else knew, So I was really curious.

Eerily once again she was right on about stuff she claimed she was getting for my family members on the "other side", and again specific details, not cold reading type things. Described my mother's stint in the recovery room after heart surgery to a T. She said my Mom kept trying to spit out the tube in her throat, which my Mom did. My sister and I didn't even tell her my Mom had open heart surgery. The medium claimed my late father was there holding the tube in place, to keep my Mom safe.

The medium was not so good on the predict future stuff, nothing came true.

But any way back on topic, she said I was a madame in the old west. But that I took care of those in my employ and did it only because there was virtually little employment for women who were single, poor, abused etc. She said it was why I feel a sense of unexplained guilt now, because it was considered a-moral.

Not sure I buy it because she said I am drawn to stories about the Old West and cowboys, and that's just not true. Plus I have always just put the guilt thing down to Catholic School brainwashing. LOL.

I am actually drawn to New England, especially Maine, and lighthouses, and stories about the American revolution, so maybe I had a past life involving those things.

12. My acupuncturist says I was a studying monk with my
(now) husband and that our (now) daughter was our teacher. Our daughter has come back to teach us more, my acupuncturist also says.

Pretty frickin' cool, I think.

13. According to a psychic...
I was a blind beggar somewhere in Asia--I suspect Sri Lanka or perhaps Bali (large island, anyway). Apparently that accounts for my crappy eyesight this go-round.
