So my (possibly new) method of animation now has a name.
I spent about fifteen minutes thumbing through a thesaurus to figure this one out, but I think y'all are gonna like it.

(The odd thing is it actually makes sense and describes what the application does pretty well).

*ahem*

Hierarchical Equalized Rotational Kinematics

...

H.E.R.K.

Thanks to primate1 for the inspiration on DeviantArt last night! :D

4. Well, it's an animation *engine* and method
not a specific movie or anything, so the animation done with it depends totally what models are chosen for use.

I'll put some screenshots on my DeviantArt page (and probably here too) when I have something a little more interesting to show (besides characters rotating around in a standing position).

I have some up now but they don't show off the capabilities very well. I have to code an actual environment to run the guys around in. :)

2. It was almost like it was meant to be...
it was floating out there in the cosmos, and now HERK IS.

7. Now it's something concrete rather than an abstract word that can mean
anything. :D

12. Oh, Zombie, there are so many possibilities!
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 07:38 PM by Writer
Herk the noun... "I am drafting my new animation on the Herkinator 2000."

Herk the adjective... "I think this short was quite herky, especially the complicated battle scene."

Herk the verb... "Oh yes, baby. Herk it - HERK IT!"

Herk the adverb... "I would prefer that you redo the last five seconds of animation, but more herkly."

Edited: because I forgot what an adjective is

5. My dear Zombie!
Wow, you must really be in touch with your inner something to have come up with this, and to have it make sense at the same time!

Props to you!

13. Well...
The phrase "the sunshine of your brilliance" seemed overblown and verbose, so I puked at my floweri-ness. Not at you, Zombie dear. ;)

At least I made you laugh :D And I laughed today too when I was making Italian sandwiches, but a bit sad that I couldn't give one to someone who would REALLY appreciate them. :)

About 20 of them... assembly line-like. I could take a picture of one, or eat one for you. ^.^ At any rate,

21. Do I have to eat the platter too?
Because the rest of it sounds really good, but I have dentist's appointment tomorrow and I don't want them yelling at me about "not eating metal and blah blah waaah waaaah waah..."

:D

17. What is it, Newton?
I'm sorry, but that name only gives me flashbacks to that cheesy Hercules cartoon. Mind you, I loved it when I was a kid.
