7. Hey, some people think that "Prussia" is just another name for "Russia."
You have to admit that they sound as similar as "Bobby" and "Robert". How about "Bill" and "William"; or "Richard" and "Dick"?

10. Yes, the Franco-Prussian War was fought in conjunction with the
Napoleon-Nick wars between France and Czarist Russia. Napoleon led the Franco armies against Nicholas and the King of Prussia, but when he heard that Alexandra had had an affair with Josephine, he rushed back to Paris, and the Franco Army was forced to flee to Spain, where they resided until 1975, when all of the Franco army died at once. Napoleon dumped Josephine, who reportedly lived out her days with Alexandra in the Pigalle section of Paris in a small apartment two blocks from the Moulin Rouge.

Nicholas, of course, was unable to make up his mind what to do, so he wandered slowly back to St. Petersburg, where he was beaten up in a barroom brawl by some German blokes, went to his palace, was seduced by Rasputin who assumed until too late that Nicholas was Alexandra, and inadvertently started WWI when he sent troops out looking for the blokes who had beat him up. The Russian people, tired of the Franco-pRussian War, rebelled, slaughtering Nicholas, his children, and a cleaning woman who was unfortunate enough to have been trying on the Czaritza's abandoned clothing when the Bolsheviks captured her.

That's from memory, there may be a point or two I'm off on. I left off the point about Diego Rivera killing Lenin, after his affair with Frida, the blonde from ABBA who had married Rivera. Or was it Trotsky? I forget, she married one of them.

12. Yes, but how many cleaning women know these things?
If they choose the wrong moment to try on clothing that belongs to somebody else, then they will be doomed to repeat the history that they didn't learn. Then those of us who do learn history will be doomed to study a very repetitive, monotonous historical record.

13. I shudder to think ANYONE knows that story

Was it Mark Twain who said "History never repeats itself, but it rhymes?" If not, so what, Mark Twain deserves credit for everything clever said in American.
