Do you hold a grudge?
I try really hard to forgive and forget. I'm pretty good with the forgive part, but sometimes my inability to forget can make it harder to let things go.

How are you with grudges? Do you nurse a good grudge, or do you try to give people another chance?

Fuck with the people I love, and you've got an enemy for life.

8. I'm willing to wait years to get back at someone.
And when they least expect it, and when it hurts them the most.

9. Pretty much the same as 'Wave (above)
I'm not very good at staying angry. But I remember, and if I believe a person who did me wrong would do so again, I won't trust them the same as before.

11. Not on my own behalf, but if they mess with my sister or brother
WATCH OUT!!!!

I am still mad at those people who tried to bowl her over at Michigan Stadium ten years ago. True, I pushed back eight of them at once and they all fell back nicely, but they shouldn't have been pushing into her to begin with. She was standing there with a cane!

15. Unfortunately I hold grudges too long
It's one of my worst characteristics. I'm trying to get better about it, though.

On the other hand, I'll proudly carry a grudge against this administration until the end of my days.

16. Forgive and forget...
I try and live by it and while I'm pretty good at forgiving, it's harder to forget. Especially if whatever it was caused pain. I'll almost always give chance after chance after chance...but I'm more careful.

17. try not to grudge and, revenge is not good either
I just try to remove myself from these persons so as not to be available for their next round of shenanigans. I have learned this hard way...used to be very trusting and got used, abused misused and mistreated. Who needs enemies with friends like that:shrug:

18. Unfortunately, yes.
But I'm working on it. Sometimes I don't realize I'm holding a grudge until something else comes up and there's an argument over it. Then, the old grudge rears it's ugly head. I have one thing to thank the Bush administration for. It made me examine my anger.

19. No. I don't hold grudges, but I DO get even.
and I am extremely effective at it.

That being said, I simply don't bother with certain personality types, because I know they willl just piss me off.

20. Yes and no.
I think part of it depends on your definition of a grudge.

If you piss me off, and a year later say "Hi" to me in a friendly way, am I going to tell you to eat shit and die? No. That kind of grudge I don't hold.

However, if you piss me off, and then for the next year continue the same type of behaviour and I observe it over and over, I'll still be mad with you about the first incident. And all the ones after that.

I can forgive or forget a lot of stuff, but if it's reiterated ad nausem, it's gonna stay at the forefront of my mind.

Also, if you do something REALLY REALLY bad, yeah I'll hold a grudge. I'm talking, try to kill me or someone I know kinda bad.

22. I hold grudges and I'm sure others hold them against me.
For example: my second grade teacher... I still want to kill that broad and I haven't seen or heard from her since 1971! Same goes for several peers in my youth and college. These days when someone pisses me off beyond redemption - they are shut out of my life for good. No more second chances!

You'd have to do something pretty extremely bad, but yes I can hold a grudge.

Like Mr. Darcy, my good opinion once lost is lost forever.

25. I'm capable of it. I try not to,
but every now and then somebody does me the kind of injury I cannot forget and have a helluva time forgiving. There are two men in the doghouse right now and I don't believe there will be any forgiving or forgetting for either of them. Naturally this is harder for me than it is for them. Being oblivious is probably a very pleasant state, but I am unable to put myself there.

hold grudges. But I do have a temper!! So when I get mad, I let you know right off. But give me a second to cool off and then I am good to go!! And then I forget what I am mad about!!

But if the transgression was a big one, I pretty much write that person off as a lost cause and move on. Fool me once.... wait a minute... fool me... we won't get fooled again!! :bounce:

35. It really depends who it is.
If it's someone who I like and who I'm comfortable with, it's fairly easy. It's harder if I don't have a great impression of the person beforehand.

Unfair? Absolutely. But hey, I'm trying my best.

36. They hold themselves.
Once burnt, I'm sure as hell not going to give my antagonist another shot at it. I'm also not going to supress my anger by pretenting to forgive someone for a grievious offense when what I really want to do is see him drawn and quartered.

37. Grudges are very destructive
And they usually don't hurt the grudgee as much as the grudgor. And they're too much work.

I choose to simply ignore people who've wronged me.

39. I can take grudges to the grave.
I never forget. Once the trust is gone, there is no going back, IMO.

I don't seek revenge, but would love to learn some good ways of "getting even" that doesn't involve horses' heads or planting drugs.
