1. 3 months ago.
My husband had a petscan 6 weeks after finishing chemo/radiation for stage III oral cancer. Something showed up on the sternum as possible cancer in the bone. I was a wreck...oral cancer is highly aggressive. I called both drs (radioligist and oncologist) to explain what it could be. They both called me back pronto---ordered a bone biopsy---it was negative, thank god. Another scan this month, here we go again....I can't say enough good things about his drs, though.

3. thats fantastic
both that it was negative and that they called you right away. I used to work in an oncology department, and I found the doctors were either wonderful with patients or horrible. There were 3 who were cancer survivors themselves, and they were very good with patients.

2. Oh, sorry, just realized this was a copycat thread.
Disregard the seriousness of my post.

4. copycat yes
but I think its a question worth asking! I used to have more contact with my doctors, but now the only time we talk is during an annual appointment. The nurse or fax machines handle the rest.

before that, can't remember. My doc called me at home twice late at night because she was very concern about a lab test, had a high reading on something that is present when you've had a very recent heart attack.

7. Never. Though my endocronologist sends a letter after every appointment

Handwritten with my blood results. And usually a few sentences written. Much better than the "we'll only call you if something is wrong" approach.

9. Does the dentist count?
If so, last week.

I had an unpleasant experience that was entirely his fault. He called me that night to check on me & apologize again. He also called the next afternoon.

I told him I wasn't paying 107 bucks for a 10 dollar med. He worked it out.
