Women of DU: how often do you think about sex?

According to an article in the SF Chronic this morning, "Thoughts about sex enter women's brains once every couple of days; for men, thoughts about sex occur every minute."

Now me an' Ellen read that and went "WTF?"

So now, be honest, how often do you think about sex?

1. Well, am I awake?

If so I'm probably thinking about sex, though a few near misses later I really try to keep my mind off the subject while I'm driving.

Is your age... No offense intended but I have read that once you go through the change the interest level drops... I am also assuming that younger women may be less jaded and more enthusiastic (older women have more responsibilites to worry about.)

Anyway, again, no offense intended.... Just a dumb male here in pursuit of the impossible, understandig women....

just being older is not a sure sign a woman is thinking about sex less. If anything, barring the change, older women think about it more, in my experience.

Let's just say that the vast majority of women I have talked with are much more interested in sex than their husbands are. Yes, it's the truth.

OK. Here's the deal with me:

I started off having a high sex drive as a teenager. It got higher in my 20s. Higher still in my 30s. It's done nothing but get stronger into my 40s. (This means I have an extremely high sex drive, even higher than a teenager.) I'd always heard people say that sex drive wanes as one gets older----but that has not been the case with me. :)

Seriously, I am very interested in this subject because my 51 year old best friend (former gf and hopefully future SO) avoids the subject religiously. We are both currently in bad marriages planning on divorce (we came to our respective decisions independently, not due to each other) and I am assuming she avoids the subject due to lack of appropriateness due to our situations rather than a lack of interest....

And yes, once a minute is about right, even at 52 years old...

Talking about it is essential. If your drives are mismatched, that could be a problem. I've only known one guy whose drive has been as high as mine, and that was a long time ago. :( If you feel comfortable doing it, you might want to bring up the subject again in the context of being compatible long-term.

Her husband is an alcoholic, is the psychotically jealous type, a total asshole void of compassion and his family has mob ties.... Unless she is in town to see her mom, we communicate only via email and messenger and at that I have to pretend to be an old female friend of hers in case her computer is ever scanned by a divorce lawyer or PI.

In her younger days, when she met her current husband they were both married, her with no kids, him with two... It was a very nasty divorce for him and I think she bears guilt at breaking up that family and wants to give no hint of a repeat....

hahaha, sounds way too complicated for a sane person to mess with, but she has always caused my synapses to misfire.....

I went through the change early due to a hysterectomy.

My interest level increased dramatically. No more cramps, PMS or fear of pregnancy to get in the way of my impure thoughts. I was free to let those thoughts explode. :evilgrin:

Older women are also more experienced, we know exactly what we want & aren't too shy to ask for it. Or just take it. :P

Now that I'm in my 40's, my sex drive is better than ever, the quality of sex now makes me think the sex in my 20's was just a dress rehearsal, or undressed rehearsal.
I have less responsibilities now that the kid is grown.

thinks about sex on a daily basis. Hell, most of us talk about it on a daily basis.

The women they interviewed for this article were either 1) frigid or 2) lying.

For me, it's 4-5 times a day. That doesn't mean full-on fantasies, it just means thinking about the subject/wishing it was happening...
