Want to see John Stossel get slapped?
Edited on Sun Aug-06-06 01:41 AM by Fox Mulder
Here's the vid: http://comedy.aol.com/viralvideos (should be #1)

Reporter John Stossel gets slapped by pro wrestler David "Dr. D" Schultz after questioning the integrity of the "sport."

Edit to add: You should also watch the "Unnecessary Censorship" video too! It's fucking hilarious! I'm still laughing my ass off as I type this!

1. I remember that. It was from 20/20.
I didn't remember what reporter it was, but it's one of those little scenes I've always had filed away in my memory. I think he claimed he had hearing loss because of the slap, and the wrestler claimed he was ordered to do it.

2. Stossel's been doing the job long enough that he could have
avoided those slaps by:
a) Not saying, "I think it's fake." That's like poking an angry dog with a stick. He could have said, "Other people have said they think it's fake."
b) Don't stand so close to the action that you can be injured. I learned this the hard way by 1) being horned by a bull; and, 2) being beaned with a baseball bat.

Those slaps made for great TV and for all his claims of hearing loss, Stossel seeks to get people riled up.

3. That was right after he was hired, I think, back in the early 80s
I agree he did a bad job. You can see he was intimidated by the wrestler's agression, which only egged him on.
