Enquiring minds want to know re: Bush's press conference
I realize this belongs in the GD forum but that's down, and I can't get into the main blow-by-blow thread on *'s press conference.
How was it? I know he took "personal responsibility" for what he said in the SOTU but what else did he say? What did he say about the economy?

1. It was typical - he was goofy and an embarrassment
to this country.

3. He didn't answer certain questions
he basically was giving forth the idea that the ends justify the means etc

As far as performance goes in terms of how bad it could have been he did ok/well. He was kind of funny a couple of times. And I can see how he might be charming to some people who don't hate him.

10. "...he might be charming to some people who don't hate him?"
I've tried, but I can't see how anyone could find Dubya "charming." It's one of those things I just can't make my mind do-- like imagining what was before the big bang, or how far space goes... how anyone could actually admire that creature or find him "charming."

5. Same old tripe...
different day.

He dances around the hardball ?'s, because, as we all know, he can't answer them.

Strange how he suffers from some kind of choke/gag/tongue warp, every time he has to answer a ? that does not involve death. This shows me he has some kind of conscience, but he seems to conciously subdue whatever small amouint there is. Bring up deatha nd destruction, and bush can roll with the big boys. Anything else, he stumbles along.

A few more of these 'news conferences' and bush will not be allowed to deal with the public again.

11. shrub didn't take personal responsibility for ANYTHING. He SAID that
"... (he's) responsible for everything (he) says..." which is a vague generality, admitting nothing.

he's blowing smoke up some arses.

not mine though.

12. The retired folks in the dr's waiting room started out listening to him,
then they started talking about how dumb he was(didn't know where countries were, etc.). I wasn't close enough to listen really well, but I got the impression they were doing fine without my help. :)
