How could you NOT fall in love with that face. He is so adorably soft & cuddly he should be cloned and given to every family in America.

He just found a new toy he was playing with (along with my new toy - a camera phone). That's the tissue used to wrap my clothing purchase from Talbot's. He heard the crackle of it, snatched it from me and was entertained for about 30 minutes with it.

she is a special one. She brings me presents. From mice, to jack rabbits, lizards, snakes, you name it. Out here in the country, she had all sorts of critters to hunt. She is more of a hunter than her brother Milo who is more of a lazy inside baby. Who we swear that is part Maine Coon, for he is almost 20lbs and a fluf ball

She is a kitty that was born to my pure black cat. It was a total accident how the litter of kittens came to be. She went through her first heat and we waited for it to be over before we took her and her brother into the vet to be fixed. We found out then that she was preggers. We were so careful to keep her inside, however she managed to get out and well, it happened. Out in the country, our kittys are inside/outside kittys.

18. That's the only regret I have with my 2 furballs

Both were adults when I adopted so I have no pictures of the cute furballs they once were. However, I know that thousands of adult cats across the country die because people seem to be unwilling to adopt older cats because of the kitten experience.

So even though it's a regret I'm still glad I did it. Abbott was actually abandoned by his original owners in the apartment complex where I live. I found him on a cold, rainy november rooting through the garbage. He had a flea color but no identification. I tried to find an owner but I knew that Abbott wouldn't survive back out there in the wild because there was too many ferals already living in the community and who knows what disease they have. So he moved in permamently. Perhaps if I hadn't of found him some other nice family would have claimed him or at least taken him to a shelter where he may get adopted or end up :scared: :cry: :scared:

Evita came from a TNR cat rescue group and probably lived feral for 3-4 years including a few births. I was going to adopt a different cat from the rescue group but ultimately ended up with her because she is such a purrer (if you can get ahold of her - she's still feral after 2 years). More than likely if I hadn't of adopted her she would have been returned back to her feral colony but at least she wouldn't have been breeding anymore.

for taking in those babies. There are not many people who would have done the same thing.

When I started off, I took in a two week old kitten, that I named Martie, who was abandoned by her mama behind the warehouse where I work. I hand fed her and worked with her until she was able to eat and go to the bathroom by herself. After a couple of years, my daughter wanted a cat of her own. We searched the classifides and took in a 9 month old cat that my daughter loved. She was getting ready to go to the pound and we saved her from that. Her name was Nova. After two litter of kittens that a total of 4 were kept, we took Nova into be fixed. She went a little crazy after getting her fixed and she took off on us and never came back. So out of those litters, we have Milo, Shasta, Buddah, and Mysterie. Everyone got fixed but Mysterie, because she was the one pregnant when we took her in to be fixed. She also took off on us after having her litter of kittens when they were six weeks old. Had to watch the babies to make sure that they were alright and supplmented them with formula until they were 9 weeks old. The babies that we didn't keep, we took to a pet store that is next door to my work to go to good homes. I was able to keep an eye on the babies and made sure that they went to good homes.

Martie, however was never a well kitty. I do not know if she was sickly from the get go when I found her, however we think she lived a good 6 years with me as her mommy. I had to have her put down two months ago. She was very lathargic and not eating. Too skinny and getting very mean when I tried to do anything with her. I took her in constantly and they could not figure out what was wrong. The best thing for me to do was to put her down. I held her as they did so. It broke my heart.

So now we have the 5 babes to own us and demand food when needed. Having them, two dogs, 6 fish,a nd two kiddo's, my daughter is 9 and my son is 6 weeks, we have our hands full. When it comes time, my two youngest kitty's will be fixed, before anything happens!!

20. Mine loved plastic grocery sacks - she would immediately start

chewing on the end of a bag as I was loading things into the refrigerator after shopping. I'd always have to shoo her away, worrying about the potential of her choking on the plastic and then I'd have cat-slobber all over one of the handles...she was just adorable!

she didn't so much chew as get a decent sized portion into her mouth and begin to lick them like a plate of tuna. The taste must have drawn her to the bags like bees to honey - she would immediately come trotting onto the scene once she heard the inevitable rustle those bags always make. I had to put that link up as I don't have any pictures of her in my meager photobucket account...my ex has "custody" of her and her older mate and I haven't had a cat in my life for several months now...I'm looking to find one for myself sometime this fall.
