For months, my friend has been teaching her daughter to drive
and instructing her on various techniques, tips, etc.,

She has told me over and over that the kid 'really isn't a very good driver', but Becca, being 16, thinks she is a 'sweet driver'.

Just now, my friend goes to pick Becca up at 'behind the wheel', which is a class they have to take to get their licenses here and casually asks the instructor 'how's she doing?'.

He says he will have to fail her if she doesn't improve.

We are laughing so hard we are crying.

So much for being a 'sweet driver' and score one for mom and dad.

My own daughter who is 16 doesn't seem that interested in learning to drive, because we are making her learn on the van, and it isn't 'cool'. :eyes:

1. This is so not what a parent wants to hear but...
Initially driving a van sucks, but then you realize the advantage to all that backseat room.

6. Man, there were good times in that Dodge Caravan.
Damn, that reminds me...the only car I've had that hasn't seen any action (from me at least) is my Jeep. That needs to change.

5. I'm gonna be a sucky driver.
I have really bad attention spans and reaction times. O well, I won't be able to afford gas or insurance anyway :)

8. My 15yo daughter has been driving my Explorer for the last 3 yrs
on the 5 miles of desert road that leads up to the house. There's not much to hit out here except all the other kids learning how to drive on this desert road. :hide:
