I have never heard of one of our predecessors who didn't die.

So, I ask you, what is all of the fuss about? Why is it so shocking and crushing to some?

1. i know lots of people who didn't die
indeed i know more people who didn't die than did die

one of my friends says that there are more people alive now than have ever died

so if somebody just invents a cure for that, we're cake

2. Well, since predecessor means "one who died before," that's a safe comment
But I haven't died yet, and I'm not at all convinced yet that I ever will. So, suit yourself.

4. "We all die, it's just a matter of how and why," Mel Gibson in Braveheart
Sure, I'd rather live than die, but when I do croak over, there isn't too much I can do about it, so why worry over it?

6. I imagine the sense of loss to one's survivors could be profound,
but I agree that death is as natural as living and is, in fact, part of living.
