Don't give me any of that "heat index" bullshit
Back in the day, when people were'nt so soft, we had to manage with TEMPERATURE. None of this sissy-boy "heat index" was to be had. No one could afford it, but we were proud.

1. Oh what luxury
"Oh ooo we had temperature."

Well we just counted how many fainted or died from the heat and we we're thankful!

3. And in winter, did you...
walk to school, barefooted, in the snow, uphill, both ways,
carrying a load of coal to heat the one room schoolhouse?

And were you thankful you had that luxury?

I cannot breathe right now. It's 98 actual degrees fahrenheit. I will have to turn my computer off soon as it seems to be overheating. Should my computer quit whining too?

4. and "wind chill" too...
Bah... we just had "ball shattering cold". Hell, it was so cold there wasn't any reason to measure it.

5. In Hell its 500 degrees, but it feels like 588.
and for eternity you have to sit there and listen to the guy next to you remind you that the heat index is 588 and say, "hot enough fer ye"?

7. Yeah!
And what's with these weather forecasters nowadays with their computers and radars. Back in the olden days all you needed was a window to stick a foot out of to know what was what. And these babies on TV with their green screens sheesh, back then, Magic Marker on a map with a sheet of glass over it was good enough. We didn't have no fanciful Global Warming to get all uppity about. Sand storms that turned our prairies to dust made us proud to be Americans. Damn erosion control babies! Wah! Wah! Wah! you cut down all the trees! Well how else you gonna see ALL of America.

Ok, I'm done.

9. You MUST be kidding...
They used stone tablets. They painstakingly chiseled the forecast into the 250 pound stone tablets with their fingernails and passed the tablets from person to person to forecast the weather. There were no Magic Markers. Magic Markers are for wimps. Don't you know that?

10. And I'd rather not hear "yes, but it's a dry heat".....
When it's over 100 degrees & climbing.

Living in Houston, I'm well aware of the effects of humidity. But lack of humidity does not comfort me when the vultures are circling, ready to reduce me to a heap of bleached bones in the sand.

11. I wholeheartedly concur.
Right now on planet Venus the temperature is probably over 700 degrees and the atmospheric pressure will crush us to death in seconds if we don't melt first.

Just saying, it really is a lot worse elsewhere.
