Libertarians - take your hypocritical words and shove them
Edited on Wed Aug-02-06 12:34 PM by HypnoToad
Yes yes yes, "dog eat dog". "We're animals", "it's natural to do".

Well, guess what? We're supposed to know better.

You can roll your eyes all you want... but when you go to the same social services as everyone else and spout the same slobber, shove it. Just fuckin' shove it.

It's fun and cool to be rational.

But if more people bothered TO be nice and caring, most people wouldn't end up in the same situations that - oh my goodness - you came into the hospital for!! :dunce: x(

So shove the rationalizing. And realize that, in reality, you know there's more to life than rationalizing it all as "dog eat dog". For you forget that other maxim: "Life is what we make of it".

Edit: Spelling/grammar

1. The libertarian ideals are only possible in a perfect world
Personally, I'm a libertarian in theory, but since I know that it won't work in today's society, I'm more dem in practice.

If the world were perfect, and every person used the inherant good inside of them, than libertarian ideas would be the perfect example of 'fair'. We get what we earn. If you didn't earn it, then you'll have to rely on the sympathy and pity of others to recieve it. Unfortunately, it just can't work in our society without EVERYONE getting screwed.

3. I like liberty, but the moment we forget our past and each other, it's
over.

Our ipods, tvs, the media - especially the ones that show people knocking others down... society punishing victims INSTEAD of bullies...

We're a fucked up nation and we're too selfish to admit it.

Sheesh. Look at Katrina and its aftermath. Government won't do shit. Partly because they support the Big corporations will do less... it's up to the people to work with each other to survive; I've said this before. But what do they do? You guessed it' stomp on each other and fend for themselves like animals. Gee, where's the socially-aware music, Christian spirit and everything else we get our jollies soothed from?

And more importantly, who's left to WANT to help others? Too fuckin' afraid to get bit by the selfless bastards who'll bit any hand that feeds (in which case I have only harsher words that best remain unspoken...)

Maybe the Libertarians are right...

And I wonder if the corporations are doing the wrong thing for the right reason... but there is another way, but that would affect them more and the needs of the few are more important than the needs of the many...

4. Bullshit. Most libertarians believe in little or no government
and leaving people alone where as Repubs believe in large government, and want to know all of your business

5. Sorry 'bout that - it was supposed to be a joke
Since many of my solidly Republican friends have started calling themselves Libertarians because they ARE too chickenshit to admit they're Republicans.
